All bamboo mahjong mats are equipped with a repair kit, designed to replace the seeds or broken threads during use or transportation. The replacement does not affect the normal use.
Repair Seeds of Bamboo Mahjong Mat
- Take out the repair kit.
- Remove the broken pieces. Remove the broken pieces with a pair of diagonal pliers, be careful not to cut the threads.
- Clean up the seeds.
- Insert the seeds into the thread. Add the thread from the side, with the curved side up.
- Finish the repair. Insert the other side into the line to complete the repair.
Repair Thread of Bamboo Mahjong Mat
- Cut off the broken thread and remove one piece of bamboo seeds from the front and one piece from the back, except for the broken piece of bamboo seed.
- Tie two dead knots in the top and bottom of the bamboo piece and insert the remaining thread into the hole of the bamboo piece and cut it off from the back end.
- Take out the thread from the repair bag, pass it into the hole of the bamboo piece in a U-shape, and put the removed bamboo piece back on.
- Put the other side of the thread back on and tie it with a dead knot, then hide the remaining thread into the hole of the bamboo piece and cut it off.
The mat has a card seed piece (with slots on both sides) is not a quality issue. Because mahjong mat seed piece is particularly large, although there is a strict selection before weaving, the woven mat and then quality control still found that there are individual substandard seed pieces, only to be able to use this seed piece with a slot to replace the seed piece, rather than cutting two mat threads to replace the new seed piece, that instead, the mat thread is not as durable as the original.
